The era of a boring standard iPhone home screen is over! With the IOS 14 you can personalize your iPhone making it aesthetically pleasing. It’s super simple, and it only requires you the use of 2 apps!
How to change the apps icons
The app that you need for this is Shortcuts which is already installed in your iPhone since is an Apple’s app.
But first I recommend that you choose the style that you want and download the pictures that you will use for the covers. To find the cutest photos go to my Pinterest board called Fashion Inspo.
1- Open the Shortcuts app.
2- Tap the plus icon in the top right corner.
3- Select Add Action. Select the Open App app.
4- Tap Choose and select the app you want to customise. For example, Spotify or Pinterest.
5- Tap the three dots in the upper right corner – Add to Home Screen.
6- Where it says Home Screen Name and Icon- Rename the shortcut and Add the picture that you want to act as a cover of the icon. Tap Add.
Now you have customised apps on your phone. The original apps will remain on the phone, but you can store them in a folder!
How to add Widgets – Calendar + Health + Pictures
Now you want to add widgets to compose the page.
1- Download the Widgetsmith app.
2- In the app, select the size of the widget you’d like to customise, on my iPhone I’ve used both the small and medium sizes, but you can also choose the large one!
3- Tap the widget to customise it. You can change the font and colours. When you finish tap Save.
4- Go to your home screen and hold and press down on an app. Tap Edit Home Screen.
5- Tap the plus icon in the top left corner and search for Widgetsmith. Tap the icon. Select the widget size you’d like to add to your home screen and tap Add Widget.
There you have it! Now you know how to personalize your iPhone with IOS 14 and make it aesthetically pleasing.
