This Autumn/winter 2020 is untypical. With everything happening in the world, we might think that the catwalks would be filled with boring designs. However, that was not the case. Ready to get to know the selection of the 7 major trends for this Autumn/Winter 2020?
1-THE BALLOON EFFECT
Starting with extraordinary volumes, illustrated through the ballon sleeves as seen in Jil Sander, Chanel, Max Mara, Simone Rocha, and others.
2- ON CLOUD NINE
But also to super puffy dresses featured by Louis Vitton, a massive “bed cover” by Rick Owens and Gucci.
3- GOLDEN ERA
Gold was massive too on the runways!
Emilia Wickstead had a classic gold off-the-shoulder dress. Salvatore Ferragamo embraced the fringe gold dress, which was super 20’s. Bella Hadid showed Tom Ford’s cut-away number, and it was beautiful. Lastly, Michael Kors presented a stunning gold cape dress paired with tall black boots.
Exuberant fringing was also a trend in these A/W runways. Dior, Prada, Giorgio Armani, and Givenchy made that happen.
4- CARDIGAN LOVE
Chunky knitwear overflowed! With cardigans and sweaters paired with everything. We have to spotlight Ermanno Scervino, Dolce Gabbana, and Agnona designs because they made this trend a comfortable but classy vibe! Super wearable.
Suits also had a part in these runways!
Unquestionably the most empowering purchase you can make if you’re planning a serious “back-to-work” look when the office reopens. Chanel, Prada, Marc Jacobs, and Balmain designs were the stars of the show.
As for head-to-toe color blocks, we have to talk about the reds and the blacks. Red everything was a theme featured by Valentino, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent as well as Balenciaga. As for the black vibe, Givenchy made a dramatic appearance, and Self-Portrait killed with a super cute and girly combo.
5- CHECKMATE
Check prints were also huge on the catwalks!
This trend is the one that all it requires is an unabashed passion for clashing. Alexander McQueen offered elegant dresses mixed with grown-up leather accessories. Burberry was all out and paired check with a check! Tights, skirts, coats, and headscarves in triumphant house checks were worn all together!
6- LEATHER SQUAD
When it comes to leather, let me tell you! It’s vital for autumn! Probably one of the biggest trends of Autumn/Winter 2020!
Structured like the Fendi and Loewe designs, more Nineties like Tod’s, or even a beautiful camel trench from Saint Laurent. This trend is a must!
7- MASCULINE FEEL
The masculine vibe was also a trend!
Christian Dior did it with a checked two-piece set. Dolce Gabbana smashed the runway with a white shirt dress paired with a necktie as well as a white corset to make it more feminine.
Versace number was to kill for! The pink suit caught my eye!
Lastly, Bella Hadid wore a leather tie and white shirt combo from the Alyx collection.
